Perhaps the most beautiful object in the sky that is also visible to the naked eye is this amazing galaxy in the constellation of Andromeda. With over a TRILLION stars, this galaxy is a behemoth that is actually bearing down on us. It is just over 2 million light years away currently.
In about 3 billion years, it will collide with our Milky Way galaxy and... nothing will appear to happen. It will happen over millions of years and when it does, both galaxies will be forever changed but Earth will still continue until the Sun dies....
