Description
What do you get when hot young cluster of stars forms in the middle of a large expanse of hydrogen gas and dust? You get a hollowed out central region caused by fast moving young stellar winds. This is what we see here. The hollowed out central section is very hot and subject to large amounts of ultraviolet radiation from the young stars in the cluster. Curiously its this very natural outcome that gives the nebula its name. It is a large, cosmic rose....
