Veil Supernova Remnant Western Side

Description
The beauty of the western side of this supernova remnant belies the absolute cataclysmic chaos that created it. The greenish blue of ionized oxygen is offset by the red ionized hydrogen. This remnant is moving outward from the center of the explosion at 600,000 miles per hour, which superheats the gas to glow as it does.
